What is so good about coffee? Its chemical compounds that are addictive in nature? Its warm aromas that remind you of lazy mornings? Its dynamics and flexibility as a drink?
I choose all of the above! With an important addition: the vibrant coffee culture and the community surrounding it. One of my friends who works as a barista told me that his favorite part of his job is the "人情味," or sense of human feelings and social interactions. I agree. I love how coffee connects people, extending beyond its identity as a drink to get college students through assignments.
